As part of Memorial's Reunion 2012 festivities,Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â staff and faculty of theÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â School of Social WorkÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â met up with friends, colleagues, and former students at Humphrey'sÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â downtown.
Alumni fromÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â a wide range of graduation years snacked on hors d'oeuvres and had some laughs with former classmates and professors. Here's some highlights from the evening:

Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Convocation May 2012
The May 2012 convocation saw our higest number ofÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â graduatingÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â students!
Also, the School was notified of a number of Fellows of the School of Graduate Studies just prior to the convocation reception held in the Chapel on May 31.
Here's some highlights from the day!
Andrew Harvey receiving the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Social Workers (NLASW) Student Award from Lisa Crockwell, NLASW's executive director and registrar. This award is presented annually to aÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â graduating BSW student who has demonstrated a high level of practice competence duringÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â field placements and a commitment to the profession, as illustrated by active participation in professionally-related activities and organizations.
Stephanie Noel receiving the University Medal of Academic Excellence in Social Work from associate dean of undergraduate studies Janice Parsons. This medal is awarded to the student who has obtained the higest average inÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â her/his social work courses.
Stephanie also won the Lyndsey Anne Antle Award in Social Work. Established in memory of Lyndsey Anne Antle who was a social work student at Memorial, this award is presented to the student in the graduating class who has the highest average for years three and four of the Social Work program combined.
Jeff Walsh being presented with the Christopher and Donna Cox Award for Student Leadership by associate dean of graduate studiesÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â Dr. Donna Hardy Cox. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating BSW student who has made the greatest contribution to student and community leadership.
Jeff Walsh receiving the David Kirkland Student Leadership Award from Student Volunteer Bureau staff. This award is presented to a graduate or undergraduate student who has made exceptional contributions to the Memorial community through his/her leadership efforts during the past year, and who possess a minimum average of 65 per cent.

Nicole Healey offers an inspiring and heart-felt address on behalf of the BSW Second Degree Class.

The class of 2013 is selling t-shirts with a social work crest. The price is $20. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org. This fundraising initiative will see the proceeds going to the Class of 2013 graduation. Shirts come in ladies and mens sizes and the ladies are a small make.
