Dr. Donna Hardy Cox brings over fifteen years of experience in the development and administration of student development and success programs for undergraduate and graduate students in her roles of Director of Student Development, President, Canadian Association of College and University Student Services and President of the Atlantic Association of College and University Student Services. She also lecturers in the Graduate Teaching Program and has conducted workshops on student learning styles, academic integrity, student development and student success. She is also registered as a Private Practice Social Worker in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Social Work education and technology, Social Work Field Education, social policy, Voluntarism, Administration of human service and community organizations, crisis management in organizations, History of social work in Newfoundland and Labrador, Outcomes assessment and evaluation, Teaching and Learning, Youth Engagement in Social Policy Development, International Adoption, Academic Integrity, Student Development in Higher Education (services, research, program development, recruitment and retention), Inter- Professional Education and Diversity.
In addition to teaching she supervises undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students. Her teaching focus includes administration, evaluation and policy in social work and higher education. In addition, she brings over two decades of experience designing and delivering social work, higher education and professional development curriculum in online, distance and face to face classrooms.
Dr. Donna Hardy Cox has been involved with a range of community organizations such as - Girl Guides of Canada (Provincial Advisor for Anti – Discrimination and HIV/AIDS), Professional Affiliate -Centre for Higher Education Research and Development – University of Manitoba, Editorial Board and Reviewer for Journal of Career Development & Canadian Journal of Higher Education & Journal Higher Education and Disability, Beta Sigma Phi, Canadian Forces (Emergency Psycho-Social Response Team), United Way of Canada, Community Services Council, Volunteer Center, Harris Centre, Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Social Workers, Canadian Association of College and University Student Services, Atlantic Association of College and University Student Services, Habitat for Humanity, Community Based Assessment and Remedial Centre, and Scouts Canada (Youth Leader).
