Why YOU should participate

Education is very important in today’s workplace. As Social Work professionals, we need to keep our education current in order to better work with people and communities. Continuing education keeps us in touch with others in the profession and helps us to be aware of new and innovative ways and ideas to practice in the community.
The School of Social Work's Continuing Education committee prides itself in supporting new and innovative ways to reach out to Social Workers across Newfoundland & Labrador. We strive to make Continuing Education current and readily accessible. We also greatly encourage current Social Work students to participate in CE events in order to broaden & deepen their learning.
The School of Social Work supports an ongoing Continuing Education Project available onsite in St. John's and via teleconference across the province. Each year there is a series (4-8 presentations) in the Fall & Winter Semesters. Topics address a wide variety of issues and the presenters are Social Workers in the community who have special interest in and a knowledge of the topics presented.
