Brian Aylward

What this scholarship means to him: It is a great honour to be a recipient of the Dr. Leslie Harris Memorial University Alumni Association Scholarship. This award has given me the motivation to continue to work hard throughout my degree while continuing my extracurricular and community involvement. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the scholarship committee at Memorial University for the recognition.


Allison Bragg

                Program of Study: Nursing

What this scholarship means to her: To be a recipient of this award is indeed, a great honour. I have always strived to do well and this award gives me the confidence to continue to strive for success. After completing my degree, I would like to pursue a career in emergency nursing.

 





Krista Burton

Program of Study: Business and French

What this scholarship means to her: 
I plan to study Business and French at Memorial and am honoured to have received this scholarship. I am grateful because it allows me to focus on my studies without worrying about funding my education and also motivates me to continue to work hard.





Jasmine Elliott

          Program of Study: Pre-Pharmacy

What this scholarship means to her:
 I am honoured and thankful to receive this generous award that recognizes my volunteer activity and academic achievement. It is an added reward along with those already experienced by being involved in extracurricular activities. This scholarship allows me to focus on full-time studies and continue involvement with extracurricular activities without having to work part-time.




Michael Gardiner

                    Program of Study: B.Sc

What this scholarship means to him:
 I was honored when I was awarded the scholarship. To me it represents freedom; freedom to focus on university while continuing my involvement within my community and in environmental issues. I hope to go on and get my masters in environmental science and to study law at McGill.

 




Sean Kennedy

Program of Study: B.Sc

What this scholarship means to him: Being awarded this scholarship, which I am extremely grateful for, allows me to experience all that post-secondary education has to offer, from getting involved on campus to gaining new perspectives and knowledge, without having to even think or worry about my financial circumstances. It also challenges me to strive for excellence as I try to navigate the way to my future.




Sean Leonard

         Program of Study: Biochemistry                                       major and French minor

What this scholarship means to him:
 I am so honoured to be a recipient of this scholarship. Financially it has been so beneficial but more importantly it has shown me that hard work really pays off. I'm studying Biochemistry in hopes of entering into medicine. This scholarship has truly motivated me to continue working hard to achieve all my goals and ambitions.

       Program of Study: B.Sc Chemistry

What this scholarship means to her:
 Receiving the Dr. Leslie Harris Memorial University Alumni Association Scholarship was a huge honour and really took the financial pressure off. It provides me with some extra motivation to keep doing well in all my studies at MUN thus far, and I plan on completing a B.Sc in Chemistry before pursuing medicine.



Joshua Skanes-Norman

What this scholarship means to him:
 I am planning on pursuing a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Co-operative) Degree. This scholarship has allowed me to not worry about the cost of university, and to allot more time to work on my studies. I thank Memorial University for honouring me with this award.
