What this award means to her: “My name is Gabrielle Burke and I’ll begin a Bachelor of Science in the fall. I plan on attending medical school after my undergraduate degree and this award helped make this plan reachable, financially. Hopefully now, I’ll be able to work in rural Newfoundland as a family doctor after graduation”.

What this award means to her: “Being a recipient of this award is a great achievement as it reflects my hard work and determination throughout high school. Further, it provides me with a boost of confidence to continue my success in this new chapter of my life. What this award means to her: “My name is Samantha Nash. I will be beginning my first year at Memorial this fall. I am currently undecided as to which program of study I wish to follow. I feel truly honored to have been chosen as a recipient of this scholarship. It brings me a great sense of accomplishment and is a great motivation to continue to work hard and strive for success in my studies at Memorial”.

What this means to her: “I plan to complete two degrees simultaneously: a Bachelor of Science (major in Chemistry) and a Bachelor of Arts (major in History). I am considering studying medicine in the future. This award has impacted me because it will allow me to focus more on my studies without having to worry about finances.”

What this award means to her: “ My name is Gina Colbourne and I am a first year nursing student at Memorial University. I enjoy music, reading, and travelling. In the future I hope to obtain my nursing degree and then attend medical school. The Memorial University of Newfoundland Alumni Entrance Scholarship means a great deal to me. It will not only help me financially, it is also an honour to be recognized for my academic and extra curricular efforts.”
