External Research Grants

Overview

There are four full-time staff members in the Office of Research Services dedicated to external grants: Three grants co-ordinators; the assistant grants co-ordinator and the grants secretary.

The following is a list of services and duties offered in support of the external grants:

  • Maintaining grant files pending competition outcomes;
  • Establishing research grant accounts;
  • Negotiating agreement language for grant agreements and institutional signatures;
  • Liaising with other university research offices and sponsors;
  • Confirming continuing eligibility of Tri-Council funded grant holders for on-going installments;
  • Coordinating annual Tri-Council federal grant competitions;
  • Providing administrative review of grant applications;
  • Assisting in gathering institutional approval from Departments and Faculties for e-submission of applications;
  • Providing final institutional signature of approval for submission of application.
