Please be advised that the ethics application review and approval process generally requires four weeks. However, during the summer months, the process may take up to six weeks.

Memorial's Interdisciplinary Committee on Ethics in Human Research (ICEHR) is committed to operating in as open and collegial a manner as possible.
The committee has developed this site to help researchers develop successful submissions to the ICEHR.

Please note that if the application is health research involving human, please complete the HERA Notification form found below and submit with your application. Health research is defined in the Health Research Ethics Authority Act as: "activities whose primary goal is to generate knowledge in relation to human health, health care and health care systems, and involving human beings as research subjects, health care information respecting human beings and human biological material".

IMPORTANT NOTICE NEW
All researchers in the Faculty of Medicine, School of Nursing, and the School of Pharmacy should submit their Applications for Ethics Review to the HREB using the HREB Application form. Due to the high volume of applications being received, the ICEHR is unable to accept applications from these units until further notice.
Please note that "Section D Signature Page" of application must be received by ICEHR before application(s) can be processed.
