ICEHR Constituencies
The ICEHR normally receives proposals for research in the social sciences, humanities, sciences and engineering, (including some health-related research in these areas) originating at the St. John’s campus. Such research is usually from researchers in the Faculties of Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering and Applied Science, Science; the Schools of Continuing Education, Graduate Studies, Human Kinetics and Recreation, Music, Social Work; Institutes and Special Divisions (excluding the Health Research unit and the Centre for Applied Health Research); and the University Library and Counselling Centre.
The ICEHR has the authority to transfer research proposals, and researchers may choose to submit proposals to the HREB for review as required to ensure review by a REB with the appropriate expertise.
Other Research Ethics Boards
If your research does not fit into any of these categories, you should look at the sites for the two other REBs at Memorial University: the Human Research Ethics Authority or the Sir Wilfred Grenfell College Research Ethics Board.
