Major Research Partnerships
Major Research Partnerships (MRP) is a unit of the Office of Collaborations and Partnerships.
The manager of operations with MRP reports to the Director, Office of Collaborations and Partnerships.
MRP is responsible for the overall financial and administrative management of Memorial's existing major research projects, funded by the Atlantic Innovation Fund (AIF), and for assisting in the development of new major research projects.
MRP’s role includes client, researcher and funding agency liaison, contract preparations, human resource recruitment, purchasing, and to ensure that projects follow Memorial's various policies and procedures.
Currently, the manager has operational responsibility for the following projects:
- Ocean Network Seafloor Instrumentation (SEAformatics) – Dr. Vlastimil Masek
- Remote Aerial Vehicles for Environment-Monitoring (RAVEN II) – Dr. Siu O'Young
- Advanced Exploration Drilling Technology (VARD) – Dr. Steve Butt
- Purpose Built Computers for Seismic Modeling and Inversion - Dr. John Whitehead
- Responsive AUV Localization and Mapping (REALM) – Dr. Andrew Vardy
- Sustainable Technology for Polar Ships and Structures (STEPS2) – Dr. Claude Daley
- High Frequency Radar Ocean Surface Applications (HF ROSA) – Dr. Eric Gill
- Newfoundland Genealogical Toolkit – Dr. Proton Rahman
- Inco Project - Mr. David Miller
- Genetic Test for Sudden Cardiac Death - Dr. Terry Lynn Young
- Knowledge Mobilization in Virtural Environments - Dr. Brian Veitch
