Allison Kouzovnkov – President, Shorefast Foundation
Allison is passionate about changing the world for the better and enjoys spending time at the intersection of for-profit and non-profit models. She is thrilled to be doing such meaningful work in her home province of Newfoundland!
Prior to joining Shorefast, Allison was the founding Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia. Before finding her true joy in the philanthropic sector, Allison worked in a large law firm, was in-house counsel for an entertainment company and had a five year stint as a criminal defence lawyer.
Allison was a founding Board member of the Circle on Aboriginal Peoples and Philanthropy in Canada, and BALLE Nova Scotia (Business Alliance for Local Living Economies). Allison currently sits on the Board of Credit Union Atlantic, Birthright of Halifax, is a mentor for law students in the Dalhousie Women in the Law Program and connector for the Greater Halifax Partnership’s Connector Program.
Allison has a BA (combined first class honours in philosophy and neuroscience), MBA and LLB and has received numerous awards for her leadership and academic excellence.
