PROCEDURE FOR IMPLEMENTING A WORKPLACE ACCOMMODATION

  

1.    A representative from the Department of Human Resources or the Office of Faculty Relations, the employee requesting accommodation, the Academic or Non Academic Administrator, and when requested, the appropriate bargaining agent representative communicates and meets if necessary to identify what accommodations, if any, can be considered. If another unit is affected by possible accommodation measures, communications are made with the Academic or non Academic Administrator of the affected unit.

2.    The Department of Human Resources or the Office of Faculty Relations and the Academic or Non Academic Administrator identifies, when possible, an appropriate accommodation given the essential duties of the position.

3.    Any recommended accommodation is communicated by the Department of Human Resources or the Office of Faculty Relations to the employee seeking the accommodation and to other appropriate individuals.

4.    The Department of Human Resources or the Office of Faculty Relations will keep a written record of the accommodation plan.
