Purpose:To define the authority and the proper procedure to follow for the selection of Prime Consultants for Major Capital Projects. |

Scope:Capital Projects in excess of $1,000,000 |

Definitions:Prime Consultant - an architectural or engineering firm which has the prime responsibility for the project Major Capital Project - a project with a value in excess of $1,000,000 Source Files - a list of consultants and company literature with qualifications to carry out certain disciplines of engineering including architecture Selection Advisory Committee - representatives from FM and user groups who review the Request for Proposals document, review and analyze proposals received, and provide a summary of findings to the Vice-President (Administration and Finance) Jury - representatives from FM and user groups who are appointed to evaluate conceptual designs submitted by Prime Consultants Conceptual Design - an early developmental stage of a project | ||||||||||||||||
Policy:Facilities Management (FM) develops and maintains Source Files of prospective Prime Consultants and subconsultants. | ||||||||||||||||
