Board of Regents approves two policies
The most recent meeting of the Board of Regents saw the adoption of
two policies – one new and one a revision.
The new Intellectual Property policy is modeled after the MUNFA
collective agreement article which addresses intellectual property,
Article 27 and provides for a comprehensive scope of
applicability.
The Space policy which was formerly titled “Space Planning
and Administration” is applicable at the St. John’s
campus excluding the Marine Institute and the Health Sciences
Centre. It defines the ownership of University space as that of the
University as a whole and provides a coordinated and strategic
approach to allocation of space.
Both of these come into effect on September 1, 2008 and are
available at http://www.mun.ca/policy.
Consultation closes for Privacy policy
The University community has been invited to provide input and
feedback on the proposed Privacy policy and procedures. The
consultation period has officially closed and the privacy policy
working group is reviewing the extensive adn very useful feedback
it received and strengthening the policy document in preparation of
recommending it to the Board for approval.
Policy proposals
At its meeting June 26, 2008,
the Board’s Policy Oversight Committee approved proposals for
Conflict of Interest (revision), Travel – Prospective
Employee Interview (revision) and Relocation – Postdoctoral
fellows (revision).
