New Research Funding Opportunity: Enhancing Health Care in NL
ENHANCING HEALTH CARE IN NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR:
A Research Fund Following from the Cameron Inquiry
The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and Eastern Health are pleased to issue this advance announcement of the second annual call for proposals for:
Enhancing Health Care in Newfoundland and Labrador: a Research Fund Following from the Cameron Inquiry.
A formal and detailed announcement will be issued early in January. This competition will provide awards of up to $75,000 for projects that propose research or innovative pilot projects that can contribute to the enhancement of the quality of care and the improvement of treatment outcomes for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.
How to apply:
The application process will consist of two stages.
In the first, applicants must submit a 2-page Letter of Intent no later than February 16, 2013. This letter should include a project title, the names and affiliations of the applicant(s), a brief description of the issues to be addressed and of the approach to be taken, and a preliminary budget estimate.
Applicants whose letters of intent are deemed to fit within the mandate of fund will be notified by March 1, 2013. They will be asked to submit a full application no later than April 30, 2013.
The Principal Applicant of any proposal must be an employee or student of one of the province's regional health authorities, Memorial University or any other non-profit organization in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. A portion of the funds will target emerging researchers.
