WINTER TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS - 2012
Pharmacy Skills, Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy Patient Care
(One TA Unit (56 h) for General Examination and Laboratory Support)
DUTIES:
In coordination with the course coordinators, the successful applicant will be responsible for support in the following courses: Pharmacy 2651, Pharmacy 2102, Pharmacy 3151, Pharmacy 4151 and Pharmacy 3301. Duties include: Exam and lab invigilation/ supervision, supervising students that are sequestered during exams/labs, helping with exam/lab set-up (i.e. ~30 minutes prior to start time), coordinating the flow of students during exams/labs (e.g. controlling timers and buzzers), helping with collecting exams/papers, exam/lab clean-up (eg. replacing products/books in the lab), and other duties as required.
HOURLY WORK ASSIGNMENT:
The majority of exams and labs will take place during the Pharmacy Skills courses in the professional practice laboratory. The exam/lab support is usually required for ~6-7 hours a day, and may occur during any day of the school week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful applicant should be able to work independently, require minimal instruction and be reliable (i.e. showing up on time for all scheduled sessions). Previous experience or familiarization with Pharmacy Skills courses is an asset.
Pharmacy 2202 Pharmaceutics II, ½ TA Unit, 28 hours
DUTIES:
Supervision of undergraduate students in laboratory work. Specific responsibilities will vary depending on the weekly requirements of the laboratory. Exam invigilation will be required for this course (Pharmacy 2202) and others throughout the department as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A graduate student with previous experience in the pharmaceutics course would be an advantage.
Pharmacy 3204 Med Chem II, 1 TA Unit, 56 hours
DUTIES:
Running tutorial classes (12 h), marking in-class assignments (5 X 6 = 30h), assisting students outside class with problem solving (10 h), midterm and final exam invigilation (3 h), other exams invigilation (as requested).
QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant should have audited MedChem-I and –II classes in previous years. Previous TAship in MedChem is an asset.
