October 2009 - Canada Research Chair Dr. Wendy Young received a seed grant for a study on development of an age-friendly communities research team. April 2009 - Two researchers in the School of Nursing are leading one part of a five-year $2.5 million project to address the issues of chronic pain management.
April 2009 - Dr. Judith McFetridge-Durdle has been appointed as the new director of Memorial’s School of Nursing. The appointment was approved at the Board of Regents March 31 meeting. Dr. McFetridge-Durdle will begin her term as director on Aug. 1, 2009.
April 2009 - The MUN School of Nursing and Centre for Nursing Studies collaborated to organize the 2009 Nursing Charity Ball, held March 28 at the Holiday Inn from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. The event was an enjoyable success, raising more than $6,600 for this year’s selected charity, the Down Syndrome Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
April 2009 - Seven awards have been made in the first round of grants and fellowships under the Healthy Aging Research Program (NL-HARP).
