Gunnar Stubseid (Norway)

Gunnar StubseidGunnar Stubseid has played the Hardanger fiddle since the age of 15, learning from the older fiddlers in native region of Southern Norway. He has participated in competitions and concerts across Europe and Asia. Currently Gunnar performs with Swedish mandola-player Ale Møller. He has made numerous recordings both as a soloist and as a studio musician.

Gunnar has an MA in Ethnology from the University of Bergen and he is now the headmaster at the Ole Bull Akademy in Voss. He has received Spellmannsprisen (national music award), the Ole Bull Medal and the Bygland cultural award.
