Dave Clarke

For the last decade, producer and guitarist Dave Clarke has garnered attention for his work with the acclaimed Montreal-based “folkgrass” trio Steel Rail, Juno-winning singer-songwriter David Francey, and the up-and-coming West Coast bluegrass band Shearwater. His recent second solo album, Reunion, consolidates his reputation as one of 's finest acoustic guitarists. He got his start with the legendary Quebec group the Whiteriver Bluegrass Band in the late 1970s and later with the jazz-folk-swing band Soupe du Jour in the 1980s. Clarke has also taken on a growing roster of guitar students through workshops, music camps and his private teaching studio.
“Clarke’s lead guitar is a joyful marriage of bluegrass flatpicking and the big generous notes of folk music.” -- Patrick Langston, Ottawa Citizen
