The Dardanelles (Canada - NL)
The Dardanelles are a 5 piece folk explosion based in St. John's, Newfoundland. They combine Newfoundland, Cape Breton, African, Latin, Irish and Bluegrass styles with boundless youthful energy to create a unique sound that hauls you up on your feet and onto to the dance floor. The band features Kate Bevan-Baker (fiddle), Fergus Brown-O'Byrne (concertina, accordion), Andrew Dale (vocals, bouzouki) Rich Klaas (whistle, percussion) and Tom Power (guitar, banjo, vocals). Rising stars on the local music scene, they are committed to presenting the music and culture of their province in a manner that is virtuosic, energetic and respectful.
