Séamus Creagh (Ireland)

Séamus Creagh is one of the most respected fiddle players in . Throughout the seventies, the names Séamus Creagh and Jackie Daly were synonymous with the music of Sliabh Luachra, bringing that infectious regional sound to the entire nation. Besides recording material for TV, radio and films, Séamus has also recorded with a roster of well-known Irish musicians.

He spent five years in Newfoundland where he contributed to the lively music scene in St. John’s and where he recorded his first solo album, Came the Dawn. It’s No Secret with Hammy Hamilton (flute) and Con Fada O’ Drisceóil (box) produced by Pat Herring Ahern was released in 2001. In 2003 he co-produced Island to Island with Marie-Annick Desplanques. Séamus has toured extensively in Europe, Canada, the United States, Asia and Ireland.
