Charlotte-Anne Malischewski (Canada - NL)
Charlotte-Anne Malischewski is a sixteen year-old fiddler from St. John's, Newfoundland. When she was six years old, she began taking classical violin lessons and soon started to learn traditional fiddle tunes on her own. She has since developed a keen interest in the music of Emile Benoit. Charlotte has received several scholarships to study Klezmer music for the last four years and another to study Arabic music last summer. She has sung and played in Ireland, Japan, Ottawa, and around the province with the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Choir and Orchestra. Charlotte has accepted a scholarship to continue her studies at Earlham College in Indiana this fall.
