Karen Iny
swapped her violin for a fiddle
when studying Irish music with Chris McGrath at Brown University.
Over the past ten years, Karen has spent many summers fiddling in
Ireland. While living in Montreal and attending medical school she
performed at monthly dances as a member of the Big Night Band.
Playing at sessions in homes and pubs also helped shape her musical
repertoire and style. Karen moved to Newfoundland and Labrador two
years ago. She has been in the communities of Goose Bay and Nain
for the past eight months where she teaches and plays fiddle on
occasion at Mulligan's Pub.
