Chamber Music for Youth

(Details coming for 2013-14)

Experience the joy of making excellent music in a small ensemble with professional coaching by faculty and graduate students from the School of Music at Memorial University.  Chamber music provides exceptionally good training for young musicians since everyone takes an independent part but all must learn to play harmoniously together.  The Chamber Music Program is ideal for young musicians who are studying their instrument and are highly motivated to improve their musicianship.  Students are placed in groups of 3 to 5 musicians of similar age and technical proficiency.  At the end of each 10-week session, students will have the opportunity to perform for family and friends in beautiful Petro Canada Hall.

Improve your music theory skills.  Students may also choose to take part in a group class where they will work on the rudiments of music theory and ear training.

Who:  The program is open to young musicians from ages 10 to 18 playing piano, stringed instruments, winds or brass.

When:  Sundays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.  10 week sessions in Fall and Winter
