Music Student Concert Pass Policy
The student concert pass can be purchased from the School of Music by music and music education students only. It entitles them to free admission for faculty and ensemble concerts held in the D F Cook Recital Hall and Petro-Canada Hall. In addition, passes can be used to purchase an additional half price "buddy" ticket when that ticket is bought at the same time as the student ticket.
The cost of the pass is $20 and is valid until the end of the semester in which it is issued. Fees are not refundable.
Tickets for faculty and ensemble series concerts must be collected from the box office on the evening of the performance, and are subject to availability.
Possession of a pass does not guarantee that a ticket will be available for any concert. In addition, it does not permit access to the concert venue without a valid ticket.
The student pass must ALWAYS be presented to get your ticket. No pass, no ticket... no ticket, no admission.
Student passes are obtained from the Concert and Facilities Coordinator at the start of the semester. Due to high demand, they are not issued immediately on request. Passes must be paid for at the time of order, and can be collected at the box office on the evening of the first concert following payment.
Obtaining a ticket using your concert pass is not evidence of your attendance at a concert. Required concert attendance is recorded separately and a record of ticket purchase may not be used in a dispute of concert attendance. Tickets are to be signed and passed in to the Concert and Facilities Coordinator in room MU-2034 within 72 hours of the concert. Tickets must have the students name and student number legibly printed on them in order to be counted for credit.
Concert passes must not be used by persons other than named on the pass. Failure to observe this rule will result in confiscation of the pass.
Note that NSO tickets are no longer available through the concert pass program. For discount tickets for NSO performances, get a GO NSO! card. Details available here.
