Kindness Raffle

The School of Graduate Studies will be selling 50/50 tickets during MUNdays, with the proceeds going to the Iris Kirby House. The winner will be drawn for on Tuesday, October 22.

The Faculty of Arts will be sponsoring their annual book swap in the atrium of the Arts and Administration Building.

Coats for Kids Campaign

The School of Social Work is pleased to announce the third annual Kindness Friday Blitz collection for the VOCM Cares Coats for Kids (CFK) Campaign. The VOCM Cares CFK Campaign is a partnership with the School of Social Work, Canadian Red Cross, Vibrant Communities, and Newfoundland Power. It is also supported by Royal Canadian Legion and Metrobus.

On Kindness Friday, individuals from departments across campus and at Marine Institute are invited to bring the following items to FILL THE SQUARE:
• Coats
• Mittens
• Scarves
• Gloves
• Boots
• Skates
• Toques
• Snow pants
• Skidoo suits

While the blitz will be first CFK collection of 2013, the Campaign will begin its community collections in late October where public donations can be brought to the School of Social Work and various community locations.

Iris Kirby House Book Collection 

The QEII Library and the BCS Departments will be collecting books for the children at Iris Kirby House.

Giving Back to the Community

The Division of Marketing and Communications will be collecting for three causes. 

1. Personal care items (toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, etc) for the Street Reach program.

2. Gently used women's foundational garments (bras) to donate to charity via Le Boudoir. 

3. Members of staff will be visitng the Canadian Blood Services clinic on Oct. 18th to donate blood to those who need it.

Shoreline Cleanup

Come joing the Principles of Marine Biology (BIOL 3711) class as they clean the shoreline by the Health Science Centre, Portugal Cove - St. Phillips and Torbay. Meet them by the science building at 2:15 p.m. They will have all the supplies you'll need!
