Adding an anchor
Anchors are used to create a specific point on a page where text can link to. You can link text directly to a specific point on any page by following these steps.
The optional steps detail how to link text to an anchor on another page.
Place your cursor in front of the desired place in your text (this will be the place readers will be taken to when they click the link to the anchor).
Do not highlight any text at this point, just position your cursor at the beginning of the line of text.
Click the anchor icon, type in a brief name for the anchor and hit OK. Do not include spaces; instead use underscores. Spaces will cause your anchor not to work.
Go to the place in your file where you want to link this anchor (this is the text that the user will click on to be taken to the anchor point you created in step 2). Highlight the text and click the link icon.
The Insert/edit link windown will open. Click the Anchors drop down menu. Find your anchor and click Ok.
Optional
To link to an anchor in another page...
Highlight the text you wish to link to the anchor and click the link icon.
Select the page the anchor is on from the list of pages under the URL dropdown menu.
Add a “#” sign and the name directly after the link text. So “../section/page.php” becomes “../section/page.php#AnchorName”. Then click Ok.
