Iceland prime minister visits
Iceland Prime Minister Geir Haarde and his wife Inga Jona Pordardottir visited Memorial University's St. John campus on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Mr. Haarde was in St. John's to deliver the annual John Kenneth Galbraith Lecture on Public Policy presented by Memorial's Harris Centre.
Earlier that day Mr. Haarde and his wife met university officials including Dr. Chris Loomis who welcomed them to the university on behalf of Dr. Eddy Campbell, Memorial's acting president. They also met with Dr. Reeta Tremblay, dean of Arts, and other members of the Arts Faculty.
Prime Minister Haarde met Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams on Monday and later visited the Marine Institute.
