Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (C.I.T.T.)
The CITT designation continues to distinguish Canada's logistics professionals and is a nationally recognized level of achievement within logistics.
The challenge of logistics is ensuring that the right products, reach the right destination, in the best condition, in the right quantity, all within the specified timeframe. Virtually every critical business activity has a component of logistics.
In achieving the CITT designation, you stand out as a leader whose professional credentials and competencies are founded on a solid, industry-based educational experience.
Program Requirements
The program of study required to earn the CITT designation consists
of 10 courses from three levels of learning.
| Level 1 - Fundamental Courses |
Both courses are mandatory.
- Distribution I (available through the Division of Lifelong Learning)
- Distribution II (available through the Division of Lifelong Learning)
No exemptions are granted for Level 1 courses.
| Level 2 - General Business Courses |
Candidates must complete any five of the following courses.
- Business Law
- Business Management
- Business Strategy
- Essential of Risk Management (formerly Risk Management Process)
- Introductory Economics
- Financial Management (formerly Finance)
- Marketing: An Introduction (formerly Marketing)
- Manging People Effectively (formerly Organizational Behaviour)
- Writing for Business
Many colleges and universities in Canada offer courses equivalent to the C.I.T.T. Level 2 courses. Individuals who have a university degree or college diploma may have already completed Level 2 course requirements. Please consult C.I.T.T. for exemption details.
| Level 3 - Professional Development Courses |
Candidates must complete:
- Integrated Logistics (formerly Physical Distribution/Logistics)
and any two of the following:
- Logistics Decision Modelling
- Transportation Economics
- Transportation Law
Level 3 courses are industry specific and ensure that those who complete the program are able to fully utilize integrated logistics thinking. Exemptions for Level 3 courses are very restricted.
