A systematic approach to instructional design and project management for online courses.

If you work in education or an area of IT that produces educational products, you’ll want to learn what this certificate has to offer. Using your experience and knowledge about teaching and learning, you'll construct a complete, outcomes-oriented online course. The learning activities used in that process will be relevant and applicable to your real-life work environment. You will also learn about trends and issues in the field and be given an opportunity to facilitate a topic in the course.

Certificate requirements

• Level I : Introduction to Instructional Design for Online Courses
   No prerequisite required.
• Level II : Designing and Developing an e-Learning Course
   Prerequisite: Introduction to Instructional Design for Online Courses.
• Level III : E-Learning Trends & Issues
   Prerequisite: Designing and Developing an e-Learning Course

Program schedule
The certificate consists of three, 10-week courses with a two-week block between each course. The certificate is designed to be completed in one academic year. The first course begins on January 23, 2007. Scheduling for the remaining required courses is to be announced.

Cost

Each course costs $695. You are advised to budget approximately $70 per course for textbooks. Recommended textbooks are available from the Memorial University bookstore.
