What it is

The Student Connections Program (SCP) is an Industry Canada initiative funded through the federal government's Youth Employment Strategy.

The SCP promotes community economic development by providing on-site customized Internet training, assessments, and e-commerce services to:

  • aspiring entrepreneurs,
  • current small business owners,
  • professionals involved in small business management and support, and
  • seniors.

How it works

SCP's services are delivered by Student Business Advisors (SBA), specially trained, Student Connections certified university students in their third or fourth year of study (or recent graduates), typically from Computer Science or Business, who are interested in gaining hands-on work experience to enhance their future employability.

Working with the client, the SBA will conduct a skills and hardware assessment and respond with an appropriate training solution.
