How to choose a mentor

You should select a nurse who:

  • holds a practicing licence (preferably in the same facility as you),
  • has three years of clinical experience,
  • expresses a willingness and interest in mentoring you toward the development of leadership skills, and
  • demonstrates good verbal communication skills.
