Certificate in Public Administration
The Certificate Program in Public Administration is intended for public sector employees and others who wish to further their understanding of the administration of public policies and public programs.
To be eligible for the Certificate in Public Administration, students must complete the following:
18 credit hours / six courses
Business 2000 - Business Communications
Business 2301 - Organizational Behavior
Political Science 2600 - Introduction to Public Policy and Administration
Political Science 2800 - Introduction to Canadian Politics and Government
Political Science 3610 - Public Administration in Canada
Political Science 3810 - Political Executive in Canada
Six credit hours from each of two of the following groups A, B, C for a total of 12 credit hours.
Business 1000 - Introduction to Business (formerly Business 2001)
Business 1101 - Principles of Accounting
Business 2101 - Managerial Accounting
Business 3320 - Introduction to Labor Relations (formerly Business 3301)
Business 4320 - Introduction to Personnel and Human Resource Management
(formerly Business 4301)
Political Science 1000 - Introduction to Politics
Political Science 1010 - Canadian Political Problems
Political Science 3600 - Public Policy in Canada
Political Science 3820 - Constitutional Law in Canada
Political Science 3870 - Provincial Politics
Political Science 3890 - Municipal Politics
Political Science 4630 - Policy Analysis
Political Science 4680 - Public Policy in Newfoundland and Labrador
Any six credit hours in arts, science or business electives.
