Program Outcomes

The program concentrates on the development of your:

  • personal abilities: leadership, communications and public relations skills,
  • technical abilities: accounting, financial management, office and records management, labor relations, personnel administration and parliamentary procedures, and
  • sensitivity to, and knowledge of, government affairs — at local, provincial and federal levels — as they relate to municipal issues.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for the Certificate of Municipal Administration, you must complete 24 credit hours (eight courses), as follows:

Core Courses (18 credit hours)

These courses provide the skills required for effective administration of municipal services.

Municipal Administration 1701 - Introduction to Municipal Accounting
Municipal Administration 1702 - Introduction to Local Government
Municipal Administration 2703 - Municipal Law
Municipal Administration 2704 - Municipal Financial Administration
   Prerequisite(s): MA 1701
Municipal Administration 2705 - Municipal Administration
Municipal Administration 2706 - Municipal Planning and Community

Electives (six credit hours)

Electives may be selected to tailor your program in accordance with your personal and/or professional interests.
