Awarding of Certificates
A Memorial University certificate is awarded to students who complete a certificate program's requirements.
No candidate can be awarded a certificate and until he or she has obtained an average of at least two points or better on the total number of courses required for that certificate.
Memorial University certificates are not awarded for attendance or for single courses in the programs. Proof of course completion is available on request for students who wish to have documentation.
Regulations for a First Certificate
- Every candidate for a certificate shall comply with all the course requirements governing the awarding of that certificate, and
- candidates shall complete at this university a minimum of three courses (nine credit hours) of the total number of courses/credit hours required for a certificate.
Regulations for a Second Certificate
Students who have completed a certificate program and wish to complete a second certificate must:
- comply with all course requirements governing the award of that certificate, and
- complete at least three courses (nine credit hours) beyond those required for the first certificate. These courses/credit hours must be applicable to the certificate sought.
Upon nearing completion of the last course or courses in your program, you should file an Application for Graduation not later than July 15 for fall graduation and January 15 for spring graduation.
Note: Degree credit and certificate credit courses used towards affiliate and certificate program requirements, may be offered variously on-campus day and evenings as well via distance delivery.
