Dr. David Dibbon

Dr. David Dibbon is Associate Dean of Education at Memorial University, where he oversees the undergraduate programs in teacher education, adult education, post secondary, and aboriginal education. David has published papers in a number of areas, including teacher supply, demand and retention; technology, innovation and change in education; and teacher working conditions.

He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in educational leadership and policy, school growth and development, and effective teaching and learning. Prior to joining the faculty in the fall of 2000 David had a productive 20-year career in the public school system. While he was the principal of one of the province's largest high schools from 1991 -1999 he was recognized, both locally and nationally, on three separate occasions for his innovative leadership. For the CURA project, he will conduct research on improving teacher education through the development of Online Professional Learning Communities.
