Director's Welcome

Welcome to Memorial University of Newfoundland's Interdisciplinary PhD Program! I am delighted that you are interested in this exciting program that crosses disciplines to allow innovative research and learning. The program, housed in the School of Graduate Studies, brings together Doctoral students that pursue research combining disciplines from all around the campus, including the Arts and Humanities, Education, Business, Science and Engineering, the Marine Institute, Medicine, Human Kinetics and Recreation, and Music.

The ID PhD offers an intimate and varied community in which students bring strong individual initiative together with the shared research concerns and expertise of a diverse supervisory committee in studies that cross traditional disciplinary borders. Applicants are encouraged to take an active part not only in shaping their interdisciplinary research projects, but also in putting together their committees of supervisors from across any of Memorial's faculties and schools.

As Acting Director, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the program, it will be a pleasure to discuss it more with you.
