The Battery - Growing Up

Until recent years, the same families inhabited The Battery, handing down homes from one generation to the next. It was a place of family, sharing and working together. Community members who have been in The Battery for their whole lives have strong memories of growing up here.

Lifelong resident Charlie Pearcey reflects on what the community was like when he was a young boy. Ernest Lucas meanwhile, recalls the games they used to play, and Dorothy Hussey shares memories of her family life.
