Geoff Power received his Bachelors degree (Honours) in Kinesiology from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2005. Geoff is currently completing a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology at Memorial under the supervision of Dr. Fabien Basset.
The focus of Geoff's research is on the modulation of breathing patterns between highly-trained athletes and non trained individuals. In addition to collecting metabolic and respiratory data, Geoff is using many neuromuscular techniques to measure differences in fatigue between tests and subjects to determine whether observed breathing differences could be a result of some change in afferent feedback brought about via fatigue.
In addition to research, Geoff has instructed exercise physiology laboratories for the past two years, and was a per-course instructor teaching HKR 1000 Fitness and Wellness. Geoff is currently teaching HKR 4320 Fitness Leadership.
In his spare time Geoff enjoys outdoor rock climbing and cycling.
