Meet the Team

Scott Worsfold – General Counsel

Scott Worsfold holds the position of General Counsel at Memorial University. He joined Memorial in September 2016 and has over 25 years of legal experience, including experience in private practice and as in-house counsel with Walmart, Eastern Health and the City of Guelph. While in Guelph, he was member of the Board of Directors and then Vice-Chair of the Wellington Law Association. Scott is called to the bar in Ontario and in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Scott completed his undergraduate and Master’s degrees at Queen’s University and law degree at Dalhousie University. His practice has spanned a wide range of areas, including litigation, risk management, contracts, procurement, human rights and privacy. His practice includes advocacy before all levels of Court in Newfoundland & Labrador and in Ontario, as well as the Ontario Municipal Board, the Ontario Assessment Review Board, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and the Newfoundland and Labrador Human Rights Commission.

Scott is currently the President of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador (2023-24). He is also an instructor of the Law Society’s Bar Admission Course and a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial where he teaches Business Law.

Raelene Lee - Associate General Counsel 

Raelene holds the position of Associate General Counsel. Raelene joined Memorial in June 2020.

Christopher Forbes - Associate General Counsel

Chris holds the position of Associate General Counsel - Research. He joined Memorial in March 2011 after having worked in private practice for 8 years. He has a B.A. (Hons.) degree from Mount Allison, a M.A. from Acadia, and a LL.B. from Dalhousie University.
