New acting dean of businessDr. Dale Foster will serve as acting dean of the Faculty of Business Administration. She began her term on Sept. 1.
Dr. Gary Gorman stepped down as dean at the end of July, and Dr. Jeffrey Parsons, associate dean (research), served as acting dean in the interim.
Dr. Foster joined the Faculty of Business Administration in 1989, after completing her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of New Brunswick and Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia.
She teaches and conducts research in the Information Systems area, and her research focuses on e-commerce and the use of technology in education. She has worked in the IT industry, and has consulted on national and international IT projects. She has served as acting director for the P.J. Gardiner Institute, associate dean for information technology and interim director of Alumni Affairs and Development.
Dr. Foster will serve as dean until Dec. 31. It is expected that a new, permanent dean will be appointed for Jan. 1, 2010.
