Search processes commence for vice-presidents

The processes have been set that will help find Memorial’s next vice-president (academic) and pro vice-chancellor and the next vice-president (Corner Brook).

The academic vice-president role has been filled pro tempore since January 2008, and the vice-president (Corner Brook), formerly titled principal, has been filled in an acting capacity since early 2008.

In consultation with incoming president Dr. Gary Kachanoski and his transition team, Dr. Chris Loomis, Memorial’s president and vice-chancellor pro tempore, has been charged with initiating the process of establishing search committees for both positions which will be chaired by the new president. The composition of each search committee was endorsed by the Executive Committee of Senate at a meeting held on May 11.
