Sister Kathrine Bellamy
Sister Kathrine Bellamy, who was awarded an honorary doctor of laws
degree from Memorial, passed away at St. Clare’s Mercy
Hospital in St. John’s on March 23, age 86 years. Sister
Kathrine was recognized for her exceptional contribution to the
development of choral performance in Newfoundland.
Dr. Thomas Patrick Gleason
Dr. Tom Gleason, a retired faculty member with the Faculty of
Education, passed away March 8, aged 84. Memorials may be sent to
Family Medicine Residents Education Fund, c/o Family Medicine,
Memorial University, 300 Prince Phillip Drive, Health Sciences
Centre.
Dr. Linda Mary Vecchi
Dr. Linda Vecchi, a professor in the Department of English Language
and Literature, passed away in St. John’s March 23. In lieu
of flowers, her family asks that friends make donations this fall
to the Run for the Cure and to the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope.
