MUNSU leaders revealed

Using paper ballots and electronic forms, the university students’ union, MUNSU, held its general election over three days last month, and elected a new slate of leaders.

Jessica McCormick was elected executive director of external affairs. The former director-at-large replaces Cameron Campbell, who has held the position for the last two years.

Another director-at-large from the previous council, Ryan Murphy, came out on top in a four-way race for executive director of student life, beating out runner-up Rob Veinott by a single vote Michael Walsh was elected executive director of advocacy.
Two executive director positions were acclaimed; Meghan McCarthy is the new executive director of campaigns, and Eddy St. Coeur will sit as the new executive director of finance and services.

Fewer than 2,500 students cast ballots.

Meanwhile, a referendum seeking a $4 per semester fee increase for the Muse was defeated by nine votes.
