Passed peacefully on July 15 after a tenacious fight with cancer, Bill Rendell, aged 84, a pensioner who had worked as an admin staff specialist with the Ocean Science Centre in Logy Bay. Born in St. John’s, Bill served his country with the 59th Heavy (Newfoundland) Regiment from France to Germany, forging many of his closest friendships. He re-enlisted with the Royal Canadian Artillery in 1952 and served in Canada, Europe and Indochina, retiring in 1972, then serving with the Royal Newfoundland Militia Regiment.
Beverley Nan Rockwell
Beverly Rockwell, a retired faculty member from the School of Nursing, passed peacefully away Aug. 16 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Leonard A. Miller Centre, in her 70th year. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Beverley’s memory may be made to the ARNN Research and Scholarship Fund.
