Facilities Engineering & Development

Facilities Engineering & Development is responsible for the planning, design and contract administration for renovations, construction and facilities upgrade. It also develops, implements and executes engineering plans and specifications for major and minor capital renovation work throughout the Memorial University campus.

This section is made up of a balanced team of engineering technicians and technologists for projects carried out in house. For major capital projects, coordinated through this office, typically, design services of architectural and engineering work are provided by external consultants. Specifications, Drawings and Facility Records Maintenance

Facilities Engineering & Development also develops detailed specifications and drawings for various equipment, contracts and services, and maintains a documentation system to track continuous changes to University facilities. It also produces and maintains record document drawings of architectural, mechanical and electrical plans, product information, finishes, space adjustments, space inventory, utilization and management, and other changes to all University facilities which include buildings, parking lots, tunnels and grounds.
