Diploma in Perfomance and Communications Media

Student with video camera

The Diploma in Performance and Communications Media is an experiential learning program that introduces students to the sister arts of theatre and video production. Through practical courses in acting, directing, stage/video craft and production, students will explore the similarities and differences in these two exciting media.

Following the completion of course work, students will enrol in a six-credit-hour instructional field placement.

The program is available to students enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts program, and to those who have completed a Bachelors degree (honours or general) at this or another university.

Diploma students learn from instructors in the Department of English drama specialization, the university's Distance Education and Learning Technologies (DELT), and from professionals at CBC Television and in the community.

Theatre classes are taught in the Robert Gillespie Reid III Theatre while video/film classes are normally taught in the CBC televison building and the technical studios of DELT.
