2008	Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Centennial Award which honors exceptional Canadian registered nurses whose personal contributions have made an outstanding and significant impact on the nursing profession.
2007	Awarded National Medal for significant contribution to Social Work education, by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Government of Vietnam.
2004, Nov	Distinguished Alumni Award for 2004, by the Columbia University, New York, NY., USA. The award honors graduates who have distinguished themselves in their fields and have earned high respect among their colleagues and the general community.
2004, Nov	Project "Training Primary Health Care Workers in rural Vietnam" was chosen as one of five finalists for the Bill McWhinney Award of Excellence in International Development. The award recognizes a volunteer project or program that helps improve the future prospects of a community in a developing country.

2002	Leadership Award for Women's Health, by the Maritime Centre of Excellence for Women's Health, Canada. The award recognizes significant contribution to the improvement of women's health in Atlantic Canada's communities.
