E-Mail SPAM Rating Problem
Computing & Communications experienced a problem with its SPAM e-mail rating system, SpamAssassin, for the first 4 days of 2010 resulting in in-bound e-mail to St. John’s Campus being rated more likely to be SPAM e-mail than normal. The increased rating may have been enough to cause e-mail to have been tagged as xxSPAMxx incorrectly.
Computing & Communications made the necessary repairs once the problem was detected. Users should review their xxSPAM tagged e-mail to determine if there are legitimate e-mails that need to be read but may have been missed.
Users who auto-delete xxSPAMxx may have missed some legitimate e-mail, although e-mail volume was down due to the holiday period. Users who auto-folder xxSPAMxx e-mail should review their folder for possible legitimate e-mail.
