Remote Desktop Access Restored with Restrictions, May 10th, 2010In response to recent increases in Remote Desktop attacks, Computing and Communications wishes to advise that, going forward, Remote Desktop Access will only be permitted from local area ISPs such as Rogers, Aliant, and Eastlink. Furthermore, for select administrative departments already contacted under separate cover, Remote Desktop Access will require Director approval.
Clients who find they can no longer connect via Remote Desktop should contact the C&C Service Desk at 737-4595 or email@example.com for assistance. Employees with University-issued laptops may instead wish to apply for VPN access; please refer to the C&C Service Request Forms Page http://www.mun.ca/cc/forms/ for details.
C&C regrets any inconvenience imposed by these safeguards, however they are deemed necessary for the continued protection of personal and financial information held by the University.
