McAfee SiteAdvisor provides a rating of how safe a website is via warning messages and icons within your browser or email client. You are also provided a link to a full report for the website to allow you to be informed before proceeding. SiteAdvisor is automatically installed with your McAfee Antivirus software. Are you running McAfee, Memorial's approved antivirus software? You can check by looking for the to check if it for the red McAfee red shield in the system tray - lower right hand corner of your screen. Within Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Ask, or AOL.com SiteAdvisor will place safety icons and balloons within search results providing different ratings based on McAfee's analysis of the site.
McAfee SiteAdvisor currently supports all versions of IE and Chrome. McAfee is also working to add support for Firefox and is expected in the next release. In your browser a toolbar or icon will be visible showing the rating for the site you are currently visiting. You can click the rating to view a detailed report on why McAfee has given that site this rating and what McAfee has found on the site. Before proceeding to a Yellow or Red website SiteAdvisor will display a warning page which provides the user the chance to evaluate whether to proceed or return to the previous page.

Here is a sample of what you will see when SiteAdvisor notifies you that you should be cautious about potential risks on a web page.
SiteAdvisor supports link ratings within emails; it will provide a warning message for emails containing suspicious links. This functionality is currently supported in Outlook 2007/2010 and also in popular web based email clients such as Gmail or Yahoo! Mail.
